“From a $3 trillion economy, India will grow to a $40 trillion economy by 2047, ranking among the top three economies in the world,” Ambani said during the 10th Pandit Convocation. Deendayal Energy University.
As the “Amrit Kaal” – the period between now and 2047 when India will celebrate 100 years of independence – unfolds, the country will experience an unprecedented burst of economic growth and opportunity. , he said.
“Three revolutionary revolutions will govern India’s growth in the coming decades,” he said. “The Clean Energy Revolution, the Bioenergy Revolution, and the Digital Revolution.” Ambani’s oil-telecommunications conglomerate, Reliance Industries Ltd, has a finger in each pie as it invests billions of dollars in building a clean energy value chain, from solar panels to hydrogen. Son Jio has disrupted the telecommunications sector, offering free voice calls and cheap data which has acted as a catalyst in the digital revolution in the country.
“While the clean energy revolution and the bioenergy revolution will produce energy in a sustainable way, the digital revolution will allow us to consume energy efficiently,” Ambani said. “The three revolutions together will help India and the world save our beautiful planet from the climate crisis.”
To the students, he gave them three mantras for success: think big, think green and think digital.
“Be a bold dreamer. Every great thing ever built in this world was once a dream thought impossible. You must own your dream with courage, nurture it with conviction, and achieve it with bold, disciplined action. the only way you can make the impossible possible,” he said.
He asked students to be sensitive to Mother Nature, inventing ways to harvest her energy without harming her. “Think Green” aims to ensure that “we leave behind a better, healthier planet for future generations,” he said.
In the mission to make India a leader in clean energy, digitalization will act as a force multiplier, he said, adding that technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics and Internet of Things (IoT) are powerful catalysts for change.
“Use them to your advantage,” he told the students.
“These three mantras will be your astras in your mission to make India a world leader in clean energy,” he added.
Ambani further said that the COVID-19 period was a trial by fire which taught invaluable lessons, trained better professionals and made people tougher from within.
“With these learnings in your kitty, no mountain will be too high to climb, no river too wide to cross. So roll up your sleeves and move forward,” he added.
Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) is the first and only private university in Gujarat with the highest rating of “A++” by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Ambani is the chairman of the board of governors of the university. Former bureaucrat Hasmukh Adhia is the chairman of the institution’s standing committee.
The university offers programs to meet the need for trained human resources in the fields of science, technology, management, humanities and social sciences.
Currently, more than 6,500 students and researchers are taking courses at the university in their fields of interest, including engineering and advanced technologies in renewable energies such as wind, solar, biofuels, geothermal energy and green hydrogen.
