Nanded, Nov 8 (UNI) Senior Congressman and MP Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday criticized that the decisions, including demonetization and GST, taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi have ruined India’s economy.
Mr Gandhi was addressing a rally on the second day of Bharat Jodo Yatra in Maharashtra which ended with a cornor meeting at Bhopala village.
He said that on this day 6 years ago Prime Minister Narendra Modi came on TV at 8 p.m. and canceled Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 tickets. Although GST was implemented mistakenly, it dealt a blow to small and small businesses in the country. These two decisions by Narendra Modi ruined the country’s economy. not
Mr. Gandhi further said that small, medium and small industries, which are the backbone of the country’s economy, have suffered huge losses, thousands of industries have been shut down, thousands of jobs have been lost. The whimsical demonetization decision also did some damage. Both decisions caused enormous losses to the country and only benefited two or three industrialists.
Loans to farmers are not cancelled, but large industrial loans worth millions of dollars are cancelled. Public sector enterprises are being sold off to capitalists resulting in low youth employment.
Further accusing Mr. Gandhi, he said that the work of spreading hate in the country was done by the BJP, RSS. Castes and religions are fighting. The patriots of which country are the BJP people who cause quarrels among the caste-religion people in their own country, he asked.
Mr. Gandhi also said that these people cannot be patriots of our country if they think about such matters.
Tributes were paid to the National General Secretary of the Seva Dal Congress, Krishna Kumar Pandey, who passed away this morning during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Mr Gandhi, State President Nana Patole, Legislative Party Leader Balasaheb Thorat and former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan also paid tribute to Pandey and announced Rs 25 lakhs to his family.
